Our St. John’s Health Ministry Team meets regularly to provide health and wellness services to our congregation. It is comprised of members of St. John’s who are trained for and/or work in the health care field. They are also “on standby” should any medical situation or emergency arise during worship services or any events at St. John’s.
Our St. John’s Health Ministry Team offers regular blood pressure screenings after worship on a monthly basis at the church as well as other special services – check the Enlightener & Herald for schedules.
Our health ministry team is preparing to purchase a new AED (automated external defibrillator) with the latest technology to have on call for St. John’s members and visitors. Our annual offering on February 4, 2018 raised $575.00, but the new units cost up to $1400.00, plus the cost of a storage cabinet. You are invited to contribute to this fund by designating an extra donation for AED on your offering envelope or in a separate envelope marked AED in the offering plate or the church office mailbox or send through the mail to the church office. Thank you for giving “with glad & generous hearts”!
Shelly Longcoy (R.N.) of our team is offering a support group called “Help Yourself to Healthy Living” on the 4th Thursday of each month. Each month Shelly will discuss a different health/wellness related topic followed by a discussion period. Contact Shelly at [email protected]
