Have a friend or family member having trouble coping with life right now? Never assume ‘they’ll get over it’ – talk with them, show your support, offer them the chance to speak confidentially with our pastors. Teenage & adult suicides is a reality in Montgomery & Bucks counties. There is a new nationwide phone number, 988, for direct connection to care and support for anyone experiencing mental health-related distress, including thoughts of suicide, mental health or substance abuse crises, or any other kind of emotional distress. People can also dial 988 if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support. Please let people know about dialing 988 – it is also on our homepage.
Did You Know? The UCC offers scholarships and grants to UCC members? The United Church of Christ Undergraduate Scholarship provides annual scholarship assistance to UCC members entering their sophomore, junior and/or senior year of an accredited 4-year college in the United States. Awards range from $500 – $1,500. Contact: Associate Director for Grants Administration, Local Church Ministries at lydenp@ucc.org for further information.
