Adult Evening Bible Study – Fall & Spring

ADULT BIBLE STUDY – LENTEN SEASON, 2022

This Lenten Bible Study, which will occur on five Wednesday evenings beginning March 9, 2022, as Rev. Sue will invite us into conversation about living out a faith that is authentic and real.

Wholehearted Faith by Rachel Held Evans with Jeff Chu is the book Rev. Sue will be using to invite us into conversation about living out a faith that is authentic and real. From the book’s cover: “This is for the doubter and the dreamer, the seeker and the sojourner, those who long for a sense of spiritual wholeness, as well as those who have been hurt by the Church but can’t seem to let go of the story of Jesus.” Rev. Sue will be ordering several copies of the book in the weeks ahead, or you may track down a copy on your own. Either way, plan to join us on Wednesday evenings, starting on March 9th, 2022, as we journey through Lent together.  Watch our publications for further information.

History: For many years, St. John’s has held an Adult Bible Study on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm in the Library during the seasons of Fall and Spring, led by our pastors.  In 2020 & 2021 we successfully held our studies online as a Zoom meeting.

We have also held an adult Bible study during the evenings of Vacation Bible School in June, also led by our pastors.  This was not held in 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic when our VBS concentrated on at-home activities for our children.
