Special Family Events

Note:  Our special family events have been ‘on hold’ since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March, 2020.  Our Church Council will decide if and when these events will return to our regular schedule.  When their decision is made, we will update this information.

Pre-COVID-19 Special Events:  Throughout the year, St. John’s has held special events, especially for the children, with our youth participating as helpers, along with a team of adults. Details of such events were listed in the Herald, eHerald, and Enlightener.

In the past, several times a year, members George & Patricia Kaufman opened their rural property for a special day of hiking, swimming and other outdoor activities.  George & Patricia Kaufman invited us to enjoy their beautiful wooded property on Upper Ridge Road in Green Lane, with activities planned for all ages or you could relax in this natural setting.  Events were enjoyed in this welcoming place!

Pre-COVID-19, Special church family Movie Events were scheduled several times a year, as we gathered to watch a family-friendly film with snacks provided. These were held on a Sunday afternoon after the 10:15 am worship service.  Watch the Enlightener, Bulletin & e-Herald and the Herald for announcements of future events.

There are several special events in June for the whole family!  See the pages on this website for our Church Picnic & Vacation Bible School for more information.

Have an idea for a special event of family outing that you think would interest our St. John’s family?  Speak with our pastors and let them know your ideas!  You may help start a new tradition!
