We generally have two Sunday worship services at 8:00 am & 10:15 am.  The 10:15 am service audio is recorded & available later on Sundays on our website, Facebook & YouTube pages. From Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends 2023 we will have 1 service on Sundays at 9:30 am starting on May 28, Pentecost – Confirmation Sunday.
 

Sunday, April 2, 2023:  Palm SundayOne service ONLY today at 10:15 am.  Service includes a ‘palm procession’ and palms will be distributed after the service.  Scripture: Matthew 21:1-11.
Artist Series Concert at 4:00 pm featuring Don Forrest’s ‘Requiem for the Living’. Soprano soloist Julie Frey, Tenor soloist David Furniss & musicians from Philadelphia Ballet Orchestra join St. John’s Chancel Choir & Friends

 

Thursday, April 6, 2023:  Maundy Thursday service at 7:00 pm around tables in the Assembly Hall, featuring communion and music by piano and cello.

 

Friday, April 7, 2023:  Good Friday service at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary.  Includes a dramatic reading of the Passion story and music by the Chancel Choir and organ.  

 

Sunday, April 9, 2023:  Easter Sunday.  Outdoor Sunrise Service at 7:00 am at the Whites Road Park bandshell, with the United Ringers & Children’s Choir, followed by an egg hunt for children.  Traditional Easter service at 10:15 am in the sanctuary, with the United Ringers, Brass Ensemble, Chancel Choir and organ.  Scripture: John 20:1-18.  Communion at both services.

 

Announcements for Upcoming Events & Projects

 

The April Women’s Retreat will be held in the Activity Room on Saturday, April 8 at 9:30 am. This month’s program will feature Barbarann Probst speaking about the Seeing Eye, the oldest and largest guide dog school in the U.S. Involved in the Seeing Eye for 10 years, Barbarann will be accompanied by her 8th Seeing Eye pup, Rachel.  Light refreshments will be served. All women are welcome!

Visit our church library to see 42 new books that are all “Rev. Sue Favorites!” Each month 3 books are highlighted in The Enlightener. These special books are available for adults & children to borrow for a week. Please use the purple notebook to check out your book; help us take good care of these special books, purchased in honor of Rev. Sue. There are more excellent children’s books downstairs in our Children’s Library!

Helping Hands Ministry needs drivers to take members to medical appointments.  To volunteer, please call Lisa in the Church Office, 215-855-5489.
 
The Hospitality Teams, who act as greeters & ushers each week, are looking for new members.  Each team serves once every four weeks.  Call the church office if you are interested.
