About Us

Learn more about our history, mission, and values.

St. John’s has been part of the Lansdale community since 1876, just four years after the town was incorporated in 1872. We’re proud and blessed to call our historic building on Main Street home, but that’s just one of many facets when it comes to our identity as a church. We are deeply committed to keeping our faith fresh and finding new ways to share the life-giving good news of God’s love. Our desire is to honor and learn from our forebears in the faith, even as we look to the future in anticipation of the new things God has yet in store for us.

We seek to be extravagant in our greeting of people from all walks of life, no matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey.

We embrace a God who is still speaking — a God who, through Jesus, showed us that being Christian is about living our faith, serving God by loving our neighbor, generously sharing what has been entrusted to our care, and being good stewards of all creation. We invite you to come and journey with us as we seek to be instruments of God’s love and peace.

Open and Affirming (ONA) is the United Church of Christ’s (UCC) designation for congregations, campus ministries, and other bodies in the UCC which make a public covenant of welcome into their full life and ministry to persons of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. St. John’s UCC Lansdale is proud to claim this designation as an Open and Affirming congregation.
