Information for First-Time Visitors

Here’s what you can expect at our Sunday Service.

We strive to make St. John’s a place where all can worship safely and comfortably. If you would like to know more about our facilities, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

We are located at 500 West Main Street (Route 63) in downtown Lansdale at the corner of Richardson Avenue. There are bright red doors leading to the sanctuary on Main Street, Richardson Avenue, and our front courtyard.

There are two parking lots on the west side of the church (on both sides of our labyrinth & meditation garden) with a lighted walkway leading to the elevator court and front doors, and another lot on the east side directly across Richardson Avenue from the church. There is also limited street parking. There are a number of parking spaces in the lot at the back of the church designated as handicapped parking on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

Our Sanctuary is located on the second floor of our building. It is accessible by stairs, ramp, and elevator. There is a glass doorway in the front courtyard with an elevator to the sanctuary, and in our parking lot behind the church is a ramp leading inside the same floor as the sanctuary. The elevator can also take you to our accessible restrooms on the ground floor.

Hearing aids are available if you are having trouble hearing the service. Please ask a Hospitality Team Member.

Audio recordings of our services are typically made available our website on Sunday afternoons. We also add sermon audio to Spotify. If you would like a written copy, contact the church office.

Large-print hymns are available with the bulletins.

Wheelchairs & First Aid Kit are stored in the labeled “First Aid Closet” in the narthex.

AED (Defibrillator) is in the church library on the wall closest to the Sanctuary by the window. When entering from the Sanctuary, turn left.

The Nursery is open for you to use mindfully during the service. We do not currently have volunteers on duty. A parent, grandparent, or responsible adult must stay with their child.

For The Children’s Message, youth are invited to sit up front on the chancel steps for a direct and intentional age-appropriate message. After the Children’s Message, children will be dismissed and escorted downstairs for our youth programming, Connect 3. Connect 3 is aimed at ages 3 through 12, but all youth are welcome!

If you need help navigating the sanctuary or finding what you need during the service, our hospitality team will be more than happy to assist you.

Visitors, please complete the ivory visitor’s card found in the pew pocket so we can thank you for joining us this Sunday! Completed cards go in the basket by the narthex.

The Book of Joys & Concerns is a green binder on the podium at the front of the chancel. If you have an Announcement, Joy or Concern you’d like stated, celebrated or prayed about during the service, feel free to write inside before service begins!

Hymnals are on the back of the pew in front of you. Bibles are on a shelf beneath the pew in front of you.
