Church Facility Manager

We are looking for a versatile and team-oriented Facility Manager to join our staff and take the lead in maintaining a safe, clean, efficient, and professional physical environment for all St. John’s UCC members and visitors. This position will be responsible for working with and supervising contracted cleaning services and working with and reporting to the St. John’s UCC Board of Trustees.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinates the activities of the contracted cleaning service(s).
  • Performs a wide range of technical maintenance and repair operations including light electrical, basic plumbing, drywall, painting, and light carpentry.
  • Performs a range of custodial tasks to ensure the care and upkeep of the building. These will include but not be limited to general cleaning, pest control, and trash collection.
  • Ensures the maintenance and upkeep of building exteriors and grounds such as grass cutting, maintain stair wells, and any leaf and/or snow removal.
  • Working with the Trustees, prioritizes and schedules work projects. Monitors and verifies all work completions.
  • Maintains all supply closets, ensuring they are always well stocked and well organized. Places supply orders through the Office Administrator when needed.
  • Ensures the regular testing and proper functioning of all building safety systems, such as fire alarms and safety lights.
  • Maintains a safe and organized work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Experience

  • Proven experience in building maintenance including basic plumbing, light electrical, and light carpentry.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Proficiency in English for clear communication with staff members vendors as needed.


Compensation, Hours, Holidays and Benefits:

The position of Facility Manager of St. John’s UCC is expected to work up to 35 hours per week and will be compensated $43,000 on an annual basis. A weekly/monthly/seasonal schedule of hours will be mutually agreed between the successful candidate and the Board of Trustees with the objective of maximizing task completion. A specified list of annual holidays, not to exceed nine, will be mutually agreed prior to employment. Annual holidays will be prorated based on start date. This position does not qualify for health benefits.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $43,000.00 per year
