Leaders – The life of St. John’s church is guided by democratically elected lay leadership, called Council. The Church Council meets monthly and consists of the chairpersons of the Task forces, committees, and ministry teams along with ex officio members at large. The council is elected each January and installed in early February. You are welcome to submit your name for nomination for a future opening. Sometimes circumstances happen that cause council seats to open during the year. See our pastors for information.

Other committees that make up St. John’s Leadership include:
Personnel Committee – Yearly evaluation of staff performances – 8 voting members, meet quarterly
Finance Committee – Preparation of yearly church budget and review of overall church finances – 8 voting members, meet quarterly
Visitation Committee – Outreach to home-bound community – 12 members, meet as needed
Worship & Music Committee – Review worship and music of the church services (responsible to the Board of Elders) – 10 members, meet quarterly
Volunteers – Behind the scenes, St. John’s depends on a wide variety of volunteers in all areas of the life of our church. Besides the volunteer council and leadership positions, our many volunteers teach Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, help with Enrichment, maintain our library and archives, distribute flowers, host the Fellowship Time after worship, keep the pew racks organized, help in preparing the Enlightener and Herald, drive people without transportation to church & home, staff our nursery, record our services on CD, offer hospitality during worship services, serve our umbrella ministry, and many other projects. Some of these volunteer projects can be done to fit your schedule and do not require too much time. You are invited to share your time and talents – please speak with our pastors or church council members about how you can help!
